Makes šŸ¢’ GMC_Truck šŸ¢’ 2008 šŸ¢’ TopKick C-Series (Conventional) C6/C7/C8 šŸ¢’ Diagnostic Navigation šŸ¢’ Vehicle Diagnostic Information šŸ¢’ Camshaft Position Sensor Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement .
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  3. Pull free the clip securing the harness to the flywheel housing.

    4. Object Number: 1401137 Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the camshaft position (CMP) (1) electrical connector.

    5. Object Number: 1401139 Size: SH
  5. Remove the bolt holding the CMP sensor.
  6. Remove the sensor from the cylinder head.

Installation Procedure
  1. Inspect the sensor and the sensor O-ring for damage.
    2. ā€¢ If the O-ring is damaged, replace the O-ring.
    ā€¢ If the sensor is damaged, replace both the sensor and the O-ring.
  2. Apply clean engine oil to the sensor O-ring.

    3. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1401139 Size: SH
  3. Install the sensor to the cylinder head.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 8 NĀ·m (71 lb in).

  4. Connect the CMP (1) electrical connector.
  5. Secure the harness to the flywheel housing with the clip.
  6. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  7. Install the engine cover. Refer to Engine Cover Replacement .
