Front Bumper Replacement Steel Bumper
Removal Procedure
- Support the bumper.
- Remove the lower bolts, the washers, and the nuts that are holding the bumper to the brackets or the extension.
- Remove the upper bolts, the washers and the nuts.
- Remove the bumper from the brackets.
Installation Procedure
- Support the bumper.
- Install the upper bolts, the washers, and the nuts through the bumper to the brackets or the extension.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Install the lower bolts, the washers, and the nuts that attach the bumper to the brackets or the extension.
Tighten
• | Tighten the bumper nuts to 65 N·m (48 lb ft). |
• | Tighten the bumper bracket bolts to 70 N·m (52 lb ft). |
Front Bumper Replacement Swept Back Bumper
Removal Procedure
- Support the bumper.
- Remove the lower bolts, the washers, and the nuts that are holding the bumper to the brackets or the extension.
- Remove the upper bolts, the washers and the nuts.
- Remove the bumper from the brackets.
Installation Procedure
- Support the bumper.
- Install the upper bolts, the washers, and the nuts through the bumper to the brackets or the extension.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Install the lower bolts, the washers, and the nuts that attach the bumper to the brackets or the extension.
Tighten
• | Tighten the bumper nuts to 90 N·m (66 lb ft). |
• | Tighten the bumper extension nuts to 24 N·m (18 lb ft). |
• | Tighten the bumper bracket bolts to 183 N·m (134 lb ft). |
