Special Tools

    • J 28721-909 Truck Wheel Bearing Locknut Wrench 3 ¾ in.
    • J 28721-910 Truck Wheel Bearing Locknut Wrench.
    • J 28721-911 Truck Wheel Bearing Locknut Wrench
    • J 28721-913 Truck Wheel Bearing Locknut Wrench 3 7/8 in 8 pt.
    • J 45107 Tone Ring Remover/Installer
    • J 36214 Axle Stud Cone Plier

Warning: Refer to Brake Dust Warning in the Preface section.

Removal Procedure
  1. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
  2. Remove the brake caliper mounting plate. Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Mount Plate Replacement.
  3. Remove the axle shaft. Refer to Rear Axle Shaft and/or Gasket Replacement.
  4. Remove the spindle high tension wheel nut using one of the following:
    5. • J 28721-909
    • J 28721-910
    • J 28721-911
    • J 28721-913
  5. Remove the hub/rotor assembly. Refer to Rear Brake Rotor Replacement.
  6. Remove the wheel speed sensor ring using the J 45107 .

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 795298 Size: SH
  1. Install the wheel speed sensor ring using the (1) J 45107 .

    2. Object Number: 795301 Size: SH
  2. Install the hub/rotor assembly. Refer to Rear Brake Rotor Replacement.
  3. Install the spindle high tension wheel nut using on of the following:
    4. • J 28721-909
    • J 28721-910
    • J 28721-911
    • J 28721-913
  4. Install the axle shaft. Refer to Rear Axle Shaft and/or Gasket Replacement.
  5. Install the brake caliper. Refer to Rear Brake Caliper Replacement.
  6. Install the tire/wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
