J 39822 Wiper Arm Puller
Removal Procedure
- Set the wipers in the Park position.
- Disconnect the washer hose elbow from the air inlet grille panel.
- Remove the cover from the nut on the wiper arm.
- Remove the nut from the wiper arm.
Note: Use a
J 39822 or a battery terminal puller to remove the wiper arm if rocking the wiper arm fails to loosen from the drive shaft.
- Rock the wiper arm back and forth to loosen arm from the drive shaft.
- Remove the wiper arm from the drive shaft.
- Remove the wiper blade from the wiper arm. Refer to
Windshield Wiper Blade Replacement.
Installation Procedure
- Install the wiper blade onto the wiper arm. Refer to
Windshield Wiper Blade Replacement.
Note: Do not interchange the LH and RH wiper arms. The wiper arms are stamped with LH and RH.
Hold the measuring device at 90 degrees perpendicular to the wiper blade.
- Install the wiper arm onto the drive shaft while maintaining the following distances between the wiper blade tip and the air inlet grille panel.
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Install the nut on the wiper arm.
Tighten
Tighten the nut to 26 N·m (19 lb ft).
- Install the cover on the nut.
- Install the washer hose elbow onto the air inlet grille panel.
- Operate the wipers and inspect for proper operation.
