Rear Brake Hose Replacement Non-GZT/GPG
Warning: Refer to Brake Fluid Irritant Warning in the Preface section.
Caution: Refer to Brake Fluid Effects on Paint and Electrical Components Caution in the Preface section.
Removal Procedure
- Remove the brake hose from the chassis brake pipe.
- Remove the retainers and straps, as needed.
- Remove the brake pipe.
- Plug or cap the brake pipe.
- Remove the bracket mounting bolts.
- Remove the brake hose from the caliper.
- Remove the brake hose mounting bracket.
Installation Procedure
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Install the brake hose mounting bracket to frame.
Tighten
Tighten the mounting bolts to 25 N·m (19 lb ft).
- Install the brake pipes to caliper.
Tighten
Tighten the brake pipe fittings to 25 N·m (19 lb ft).
- Install the retainer and tie straps, as needed.
- Bleed the brakes. Refer to
Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding.
Rear Brake Hose Replacement GZT/GPG

Removal Procedure
- Remove the brake hose from the chassis brake pipe.
- Remove the retainers and straps, as needed.
- Remove the brake pipe from the caliper.
- Plug or cap the brake pipe and caliper
- Remove the bracket mounting bolts.
- Remove the brake hose from the caliper.
Installation Procedure
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Install the brake hose mounting bracket to frame.
Tighten
Tighten the mounting bolts to 25 N·m (19 lb ft).
- Install the brake pipes to caliper.
Tighten
Tighten the brake pipe fittings to 25 N·m (19 lb ft).
- Install the retainers and tie straps, as needed.
- Bleed the brakes. Refer to
Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding.
Rear Brake Hose Replacement Axle

Removal Procedure
- Remove the brake hose from the chassis brake pipe.
- Remove the retainer.
- Remove the brake pipe.
- Plug or cap the brake pipe.
- Remove the bracket mounting bolts.
- Remove the brake hose from the caliper.
- Remove the brake hose mounting bracket.
Installation Procedure
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.
- Install the brake hose mounting bracket.
Tighten
Tighten the mounting bolts to 32 N·m (24 lb ft).
- Install the brake pipes.
Tighten
Tighten the brake pipe fittings to 19 N·m (14 lb ft).
- Install the brake hose through the frame bracket.
- Connect the fitting to the brake hose.
Tighten
Tighten the fitting to 19 N·m (14 lb ft).
- Install the retainer.
- Bleed the brakes. Refer to
Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding.
