J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

1. Partially drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
2. Remove the air cleaner layer. Refer to the appropriate procedure:

•	Air Cleaner Replacement for the 8.1L engine.

•	Air Cleaner Replacement for the 7.8L engine

•	Air Cleaner Replacement for the 7.2L engine

3. Remove the right wheelhouse panel. Refer to Wheelhouse Panel Replacement .
4. Remove the heater hose clamps using the J 38185 .
5. Remove the heater hose from the retainer.
6. Remove the outlet heater hose.

1. Install the outlet heater hose.
2. Install the heater hose to the retainer.
3. Install the heater hose clamps using the J 38185 .
4. Fill the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
5. Install the air cleaner layer. Refer to the appropriate procedure:

•	Air Cleaner Replacement for the 8.1L engine

•	Air Cleaner Replacement for the 7.8L engine

•	Air Cleaner Replacement for the 7.2L engine

6. Install the right wheelhouse panel. Refer to Wheelhouse Panel Replacement .

Heater Outlet Hose Replacement RPO-LLY

Special Tools

J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

1. Partially drain the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
2. Remove the air cleaner. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
3. Remove the right wheelhouse panel. Refer to Wheelhouse Panel Replacement .
4. Remove the heater hose clamps using the J 38185 .
5. Remove the outlet heater hose from the outlet radiator hose connection.
6. Remove the outlet heater hose from the heater core outlet.

1. Install the outlet heater hose to the heater core outlet.
2. Install the outlet heater hose to the outlet radiator hose connection.
3. Install the heater hose clamps using the J 38185 .
4. Fill the engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
5. Install the air cleaner. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
6. Install the right wheelhouse panel. Refer to Wheelhouse Panel Replacement .
