Front Disc Brake Pads Replacement Dayton-Walther

Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Brake Caliper Caution in the Preface section.

  1. Remove the brake caliper. Refer to Front Brake Caliper Replacement.
  2. Do not remove the brake line from the caliper.


    Object Number: 22102  Size: SH
  3. Remove the brake pad retainer spring.

  4. Object Number: 200256  Size: SH
  5. Slide the outer brake pad along the rail in the brake caliper housing to the notches.
  6. Remove the outer brake pad.
  7. Slide the inner brake pad along the rail in the brake caliper housing to the notches.
  8. Remove the inner brake pad.

Installation Procedure

  1. Inspect the brake caliper. Refer to Brake Caliper Inspection.

  2. Object Number: 200256  Size: SH
  3. Install the inner brake pad.
  4. Install the outer brake pad.

  5. Object Number: 22102  Size: SH
  6. Install a new brake pad retainer spring.
  7. If the service kit includes extra springs, discard the springs.
  8. Install the brake caliper. Refer to Front Brake Caliper Replacement.

Removal Procedure

    Caution: Refer to Brake Caliper Supporting to Prevent Hose Damage Caution in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 883006  Size: SH
  1. Remove the brake caliper. Refer to Front Brake Caliper Replacement.
  2. Do not remove the brake line from the caliper.

  3. Remove the inner brake pad from the brake caliper mounting plate.

  4. Object Number: 22104  Size: SH
  5. Remove the outer brake pad.

Installation Procedure

  1. Inspect the brake caliper. Refer to Brake Caliper Inspection.

  2. Object Number: 22104  Size: SH
  3. Install the outer brake pad into the brake caliper housing.
  4. Install the inner brake pad onto the brake caliper mounting plate.

  5. Object Number: 883006  Size: SH
  6. Install the brake caliper. Refer to Front Brake Caliper Replacement.
  7. Pump the brake pedal several times until the pedal is firm and the disc brake pads are seated.
  8. Inspect the brake fluid level in the master cylinder. Refer to Master Cylinder Reservoir Filling.
