Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 674616  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the chassis fuel pipes from the engine fuel pipes. Refer to Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  2. Remove the retaining nut from the fuel bundle bracket.

  3. Object Number: 817654  Size: SH
  4. Remove the desired pipe from the brake/fuel line bundle.
  5. Remove the fuel system cooler if required . Refer to Fuel Cooler Replacement .
  6. Cap off the fuel pipe to prevent contamination.

  7. Object Number: 817643  Size: SH
  8. Unclip the brake/fuel pipe bundle and remove the desired pipe.

  9. Object Number: 817647  Size: SH
  10. If required lower the fuel tank and disconnect the desired chassis fuel pipe from the fuel sender assembly.
  11. Remove the desired pipe from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 817643  Size: SH
  1. Install the fuel pipe into the chassis by guiding the pipes toward the rear of vehicle.
  2. Lift the fuel pipes, while guiding the forward portion of the pipes up toward the engine connections.
  3. Remove the fuel caps, if required.
  4. Install the system cooler, if required . Refer to Fuel Cooler Replacement .
  5. Connect the desire fuel pipe to the fuel bundle clips at the transmission brackets.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Connect the desired pipe to the fuel sender assembly.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the fuel bundle bracket retaining nut to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  9. Install the fuel tank if required .
  10. Connect the chassis fuel pipes to the engine fuel pipes. Refer to Metal Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service .
  11. Purge air from the fuel system. Refer to Fuel Feed Pipe and Return Pipe Purging .
