Removal Procedure
- Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
in Engine Electrical.
- Remove the electrical connector.
- Remove the bolts that fasten the electronic brake control module (EBCM)
to the brake pressure modulator valve (BPMV).
Notice: Do not use a tool to pry the EBCM from the BPMV. Excessive
force will damage the EBCM.
- Remove the EBCM from the BPMV. Removal may require a light amount of force.
- Clean the BPMV with a clean, dry cloth.
Installation Procedure
Important:
• | After installation, calibrate the new EBCM to the tire size wheelbase
and Hydraboost or Hydramax Systems. |
• | If the EBCM mounting bolts are corroded or damaged, do not reuse the
old mounting bolts. Install new EBCM mounting bolts with the new EBCM. |
• | Do not use room temperature vulcanizing (RTV) or any other type of sealant
on the EBCM to BPMV mating surface. |
- Install the EBCM to the BPMV.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.
- Install the EBCM bolts.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 5 N·m (44 lb in)
in an X-pattern.
- Connect the electrical connectors to the EBCM.
- Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
in Engine Electrical.
- Revise the tire calibration wheelbase and Hydraboost or Hydramax System.
