Fuel Tank Filler Hose Replacement One Piece

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 590290  Size: SH

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Drain the fuel below the level of the fuel filler hose. Refer to Fuel Tank Draining .
  3. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  4. Clean the fuel hose connections and surrounding areas before disconnecting the fuel hoses in order to avoid possible contamination of the fuel system.
  5. Loosen the vent hose clamps (3,8) and the fill hose clamps (4,5).
  6. Remove the vent hose (6) and the fill hose (2).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the fuel filler hose (7) and the clamps (4,5).
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the fuel vent hose (6) and the clamps (3,8).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the fuel fill and fuel vent hose clamps to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).

  5. Lower the vehicle.
  6. Refill the fuel system.
  7. Inspect for leaks.
  8. Install the fuel tank filler cap.
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.
