Front Brake Hose Replacement 2WD

Removal Procedure

  1. Clean the hose fittings at both ends. Remove all dirt, grease, and other foreign material.

  2. Object Number: 156267  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the steel pipe.
  4. Remove the clip.

  5. Object Number: 156274  Size: SH
  6. Remove the bolt and the washers.
  7. Remove the brake hose.

Installation Procedure

Important: Use new copper washers when installing the brake hose.

    Important: After installation, the brake hose must not be twisted. The brake hose must not contact any other components.

  1. Install the brake hose. Ensure the hose in not twisted.

  2. Object Number: 156274  Size: SH
  3. Install new copper washers.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the bolt.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 44 N·m (32 lb ft).

  7. Install the clip.
  8. Connect the steel pipe. Refer to Brake Pipe Replacement .
  9. Bleed the brakes. Refer to Hydraulic Brake System Bleeding .

Front Brake Hose Replacement 4WD

Removal Procedure

  3. Disconnect the steel pipe.
  4. Remove the clip.

  5. Object Number: 156289  Size: SH
  6. Remove the bolt and the washers.
  7. Remove the brake hose.
