Test Description

The following numbers refer to the steps in the table.

  1. This step checks the configuration of the OnStar® system.

    2.

  2. This step checks for an open in the IGN SEN circuit.

    3.

  3. This step checks for a short to ground or an open in the Ignition Positive circuit.

DEFINTION: This procedure diagnosis the "Unable to configue the OnStar® system" message from the OnStar® Call Center.

Did you perform the OnStar® Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. Activate the OnStar® Call Center button.
  3. Ask the OnStar® Call Center operator to configure the vehicle.
  4. Activate the Call End button.

Did the OnStar® Call Center operator say that the vehicle was configured?

Go to Step 5

Test the IGN SEN circuit for an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the Ignition Positive Voltage circuit for an open or a short to Ground . Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
