Was the Audible Warnings Diagnostic System Check performed?

  1. Place the Ignition Switch in the OFF or LOCK position.
  2. Remove the key from the Ignition Switch.
  3. Close the LF doors.
  4. Remove the Audio Alarm Module from the Convenience Center.
  5. With a DMM test for continuity between Convenience Center Terminal J3 and ground.

Is there continuity to ground?

  1. Disconnect connector C266.
  2. Using a DMM, check for continuity between the IP Harness side of connector C266 cavity B3 and ground.

Is there continuity to ground?

--

Go to Step  4

Repair short to ground between connector C266 and the convenience center. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

--

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Audible Warnings

With connector C266 disconnected, using a DMM, check for continuity between IP harness side of connector C266 cavity B4 and ground.

Is there continuity to ground?

--

Go to Step 6

Disconnect LF Door Jamb Switch and with a DMM, check for Short to ground between connector C266 cavity B4 and the LF jamb switch cavity C.

Is there continuity to ground?

--

Go to Step 9

Using a DMM, inspect for continuity between Steering Column side of connector C266 cavity B3 and B4.

Is continuity present?

--

Replace audio alarm module.

Repair short to ground in CKT 159 between connector C266 cavity B4 and LF Door Jamb Switch Cavity C. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the LF door jamb switch. Refer to Door Jamb Switch Replacement in Doors.

Replace the key-in warning buzzer switch. Refer to Ignition and Key Alarm Switch Assembly - Disassemble - Off Vehicle .

  1. Disconnect connector C304.
  2. Close the left front door.
  3. Connect a DMM between connector C304 (console side) cavity F9 and ground.

Is there continuity?

  1. Disconnect the body control module (BCM) connector C1.
  2. Connect a DMM between cavity D11 of BCM connector C1 and ground.

Is there continuity?

Go to Step 4

Locate and repair short to ground in CKT 159 (TAN) between BCM connector C1 and connector C304. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the body control module (BCM). Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control Systems.

  1. Disconnect the left front door jamb switch.
  2. Connect a DMM between connector C304 (harness side) cavity F9 and ground.

Is there continuity?

Locate and repair short to ground in CKT 159 (TAN) between connector C304 and the left front door jamb switch. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring.

Is the repair complete?
