Remove the horn relay from the underhood fuse block.

Does the horn stop sounding?

Locate and Repair the short to B+ in CKT 29 (DK GRN) between the underhood fuse block and the left horn or the right horn (if equipped). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring.

Is the repair complete?

Connect a DMM between cavities D1 and C3 of the horn relay.

Is there continuity?

--

Go to Step 5

Replace the horn relay.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Disconnect C100.
  2. Connect a DMM from the underhood fuse block cavity C1 to B+.

Is there battery voltage?

Locate and Repair the short to ground in CKT   28 (BLK) between C100 and the underhood fuse block. Refer to Wiring Repairs in wiring.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Horns System Check

  1. Reconnect connector C100.
  2. Disconnect connector C210 at the convenience center.
  3. Connect a DMM from the underhood fuse block cavity  C1 to B+.

Is there battery voltage?

  1. Reconnect C210.
  2. Disconnect the remote control door lock receiver or the vehicle interface unit (luxury).
  3. Connect a DMM from cavity C1 of underhood fuse block to B+.

Is there battery voltage?

Locate and repair the short to ground in CKT 28 (BLK) between C210 and remote control door lock receiver or vehicle interface unit (luxury). Refer to Wiring Repairs in wiring.

Replace remote control door lock receiver or vehicle interface unit (luxury). Refer to Remote Control Door Lock Receiver Replacement in doors.

Does the vehicle contain a body control module (BCM)?

  1. Disconnect BCM connector C1.
  2. Connect a DMM from the underhood fuse block cavity C1 to B+.

Is there battery voltage?

Replace the body control module.

  1. Disconnect C266.
  2. Connect a DMM from the underhood fuse block cavity C1 to B+.

Locate and repair the short to ground in CKT 28 (BLK) between C100, BCM C1, C266 or C210. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Disconnect the horn switch.
  2. Connect a DMM from C266 cavity A11 to B+.

Is there battery voltage?

Locate and repair the short to ground in CKT 28 (BLK) between C266 and the horn switch. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the horn switch.
