The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some customers may comment that the 2nd row seat will not release from the outboard handle. The seat back will fold down, but the bottom may not tumble forward or may be difficult to release. If the power seat release is used then the seat will tumble
forward correctly.
Recommendation/Instructions:
To correct this concern install a nylon zip tie strap to the inboard latch release cable at the inboard seat latch, as shown below. This latch engages with the floor striker. The zip tie strap is being used to take up some of the slack in the cable.
After the tie strap is installed remove the two cable adjuster retainers and allow the cables to self adjust (relax) and reinstall the adjuster retainers.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
