Removal Procedure
- Remove the engine sight shield. Refer to Upper Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement .
- Remove the evaporative emission (EVAP) line from the canister purge solenoid, perform the following:
- Disconnect the EVAP canister purge solenoid electrical connector (1).
- Remove the EVAP canister purge solenoid bolt (2).
- Remove the EVAP canister purge solenoid (3) and insulator (1).
| 2.1. | Push the large size white retainer portion in. |
| 2.2. | Push down, while pulling up slightly in order the disengage the tube. |
Installation Procedure
- Install the insulator (1) onto the EVAP canister purge solenoid (3).
- Install the EVAP canister purge solenoid (3).
- Install the EVAP canister purge solenoid bolt (2).
- Connect the EVAP canister purge solenoid electrical connector (1).
- Install the EVAP line to the canister purge solenoid (1).
- Install the engine sight shield. Refer to Upper Intake Manifold Sight Shield Replacement .
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 10.5 N·m (93 lb in).
