Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear door trim panel, as necessary. Refer to Rear Door Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. Pull back the water deflector, as necessary. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 570296  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the lower latch cable from the handle.
  5. Remove the latch control handle screws.
  6. Remove the latch control handle.
  7. Disconnect the upper latch cable from the handle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 570296  Size: SH
  1. Connect the upper latch cable.
  2. Install the latch control handle.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the latch control handle screws.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the screws to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  6. Connect the lower latch cable to handle.
  7. Pull back the water deflector, as necessary. Refer to Water Deflector Replacement .
  8. Install the rear door trim panel, as necessary. Refer to Rear Door Trim Panel Replacement .
