The Motor Control Module 2 Scan Tool Data Parameters list contains hybrid controls-related parameters. The list is arranged in alphabetical order.
Use the Motor Control Module 2 Scan Tool Data Parameters list only after the following is determined:
• | The Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle is completed. |
• | No diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) |
• | On-board diagnostics are functioning properly |
The scan tool values from a properly running vehicle may be used for comparison with the vehicle you are diagnosing. The Motor Control Module 2 Scan Tool Data Parameters list represents values that would be seen on a normally running vehicle.
Important: A scan tool that displays faulty data should not be used. The scan tool concern should be reported to the manufacturer. Use of a faulty scan tool can result in misdiagnosis and unnecessary parts replacement.
Only the parameters listed below are referenced in this service manual for use in diagnosis. If all values are within the typical range described below, refer to Symptoms - Hybrid Controls for diagnosis.
Parameter | System State | Expected Value | Description |
---|---|---|---|
Operating Conditions: Engine Idling/Radiator Hose Hot/Closed Throttle/Park or Neutral/Closed Loop/Accessories OFF, unless otherwise noted | |||
Motor 2 Current Commanded | -- | Varies | This parameter displays the commanded current of Motor 2. The parameter display range is -512 to +508A. |
Motor 2 Isolation Voltage | -- | Near HPCM 300V Circuit voltage | This parameter displays the voltage of the Chassis Isolation measurement circuit. With no loss of isolation present, this parameter should be at or near the hybrid battery high voltage value. the parameter display range is 0-765 volts. |
Motor 2 Phase U Current | -- | Varies | This parameter displays the actual current of the Motor 2 phase U circuit. The parameter display range is -512 to +508A. |
Motor 2 Phase V Current | -- | Varies | This parameter displays the actual current of the Motor 2 phase V circuit. The parameter display range is -512 to +508A. |
Motor 2 Phase W Current | -- | Varies | This parameter displays the actual current of the Motor 2 phase W circuit. The parameter display range is -512 to +508A. |
Motor 2 Resolver Angle | -- | Varies | This parameter displays the physical position of Motor 2. The drive motor generator position sensor is monitored by the MCM. The MCM monitors the angular position, speed and direction of the drive motor generator based upon the signals of the resolver-type position sensor. The parameter display range is 0 to 359°. |
Motor 2 Resolver Offset | -- | Between -25 and 25° | This parameter displays the learned offset of the Motor 2 position sensor. The drive motor generator position sensor is monitored by the MCM. The MCM monitors the angular position, speed and direction of the drive motor generator based upon the signals of the resolver-type position sensor. When the ignition is turned OFF, the MCM commands a very slight and precise movement of the motor. From this slight movement, the MCM determines any error that exists in the position sensor. The parameter display range is -32 to 31.75°. |
Motor 2 Speed Actual | -- | Varies | This parameter displays the actual rotations per minute (RPM) of Motor 2. A positive number indicates the motor is rotating in a clockwise manner. The parameter display range is -32768 to +32767 RPM. |
Motor 2 Temperature Sensor | -- | Varies | This parameter displays the voltage of the Motor 2 temperature sensor. The parameter display range is 0 to 5.00V. |
Motor 2 Torque Actual | -- | Varies | This parameter displays the actual torque of Motor 2. The parameter display range is -512 to +508 N·m. |
Motor 2 Torque Commanded | -- | Varies | This parameter displays the commanded torque of Motor 2. The parameter display range is -512 to +508 N·m. |
Phase U Current Offset | -- | Between -30 and 30A | This parameter displays the learned offset value of the Motor 2 phase U circuit current sensor. When commanded motor current is zero, the MCM will relearn any phase current sensor that does not indicate 0 amps. The amount of error that was relearned is called the Offset. The parameter display range is -50A to +50A. |
Phase U Inverter Temperature | -- | Near other Phase Inverter Temperatures | This parameter displays the temperature of the Motor 2 phase U circuit temperature sensor. The parameter display range is -40°C to +215°C (-40°F to +419°F). |
Phase V Current Offset | -- | Between -30 and 30A | This parameter displays the learned offset value of the Motor 2 phase V circuit current sensor. When commanded motor current is zero, the MCM will relearn any phase current sensor that does not indicate 0 amps. The amount of error that was relearned is called the Offset. The parameter display range is -50A to +50A. |
Phase V Inverter Temperature | -- | Near other Phase Inverter Temperatures | This parameter displays the temperature of the Motor 2 phase V circuit temperature sensor. The parameter display range is -40°C to +215°C (-40°F to +419°F). |
Phase W Current Offset | -- | Between -30 and 30A | This parameter displays the learned offset value of the Motor 2 phase W circuit current sensor. When commanded motor current is zero, the MCM will relearn any phase current sensor that does not indicate 0 amps. The amount of error that was relearned is called the Offset. The parameter display range is -50A to +50A. |
