Circuit/System Description
This is an internal fault detection of the power inverter module (PIM). This fault is handled inside the PIM and no external circuits are involved.
Conditions for Running the DTC
• | The control module runs the program to detect an internal fault when the key is ON. |
• | Ignition voltage is 7 volts or greater. |
Conditions for Setting the DTC
The control module has detected an internal malfunction.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
• | DTCs P0601, P0602, P0603, P0604, P0606 and P062F are Type A DTCs. |
• | The hybrid powertrain control module (HPCM) commands the battery energy control module (BECM) to open the high voltage contactor relays. |
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
DTCs P0601, P0602, P0603, P0604, P0606 and P062F are Type A DTCs.

Circuit/System Verification
- Test for HPCM DTC P0562.
⇒ | Perform HPCM P0562 diagnosis if set. |
- Clear the DTC information.
- Turn the ignition OFF for 1 minute.
- Turn the ignition ON.
- Retest for DTCs P0601, P0602, P0603, P0604, P0606 and P062F.
Circuit/System Testing
- Test for HPCM DTC P0562.
⇒ | Perform HPCM P0562 diagnosis if set. |
- Program the PIM with the latest software version and recheck for DTCs.
⇒ | If the DTC resets after programming or if the PIM already contains the latest software version, replace the PIM. |
