Some customers may comment on a "Service Suspension System" message. The technician may also find that DTCs C0575.04 or C0580.04 are set. These codes are for the front dampers.
GM Engineering is attempting to determine the root cause of this condition. Analysis of the Electronic Suspension Control (ESC) modules returned through the Warranty Parts Center has resulted in No Trouble Found.
DTCs set, C0575 & C0580 symptom 04, indicate an open circuit on the front damper (shock absorber). There is a connector on the top of the shock that can be loose or disconnected. If it is connected, the vehicle must be test driven with a scan tool diagnostic counter connected to determine if an input is being received from the damper actuator. If no signal is seen when driving over bumps, the damper (shock absorber) may need to be replaced.
DO NOT REPLACE THE ESC MODULE.
Use the following information to diagnose the customer's concern. When possible, note as much of the following information as possible on the repair order.

If the call is not returned within one hour, proceed with diagnosing and repairing the vehicle according to information found in SI. For vehicles located within a 2 hour commute from the Detroit, MI and Dayton, OH areas, engineering may request to visit the dealership to inspect the vehicle prior to repair.
