Tools Required

    • J 36612 Bearing Installer (4WD 15 Series and 4WD 25 Series)
    • J 36513 Driver Handle
    • J 36599-A Sleeve Adjusting Wrench
    • J 36603 Side Bearing Cup Installer

  1. For the 4WD 15 Series and 4WD 25 Series models, use the J 36513 and the J 36612 in order to install the bearings to the sleeves.

  2. Object Number: 206850  Size: SH
  3. For the 4WD 15 Series and 4WD 25 Series models, use J 36599-A in order to install the sleeves to the carrier case.
  4. Use the J 36603 with the J 8092 in order to install the side bearing cups.

  5. Object Number: 205910  Size: SH
  6. Install the differential assembly to the carrier case half.
  7. • Place the differential assembly into the carrier case half which contains the pinion gear.
    • For 4WD 15 Series and 4WD 25 Series models, use the J 36615 in order to turn the left sleeve in until the backlash is felt between the ring and the pinion.

  8. Remove the carrier case from the J 36599-A
  9. Install the carrier case halves.
  10. Do not use sealer at this time.

    If the carrier halves do not make complete contact, use the J 36599-A in order to back out the right sleeve.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  11. Install the bolts.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 47 N·m (35 lb ft).
