The DTC B2462 is an internal function of the vehicle interface unit (VIU). DTC B2462 is set when the VIU detects no GPS antenna present.
The Ignition must be in the Run or ACC position and the VIU power must be on. The VIU will run this test every 2.5 sec. Battery voltage must be at least 9.5 volts and no more than 15.5 volts.
The VIU receives a signal from the global position system (GPS) receiver (The GPS receiver is located inside the VIU) which indicates the status of the GPS antenna. If the VIU does not detect an antenna connected to the GPS receiver, DTC B2462 will set.
When DTC B2462 is current, the VIU sees all information received from the internal GPS module as invalid.
The code can be cleared when the VIU does not detect a failure during the last diagnostic cycle.
The number(s) below refer to the step number(s) on the diagnostic table.
