The hybrid powertrain control module (HPCM) continuously monitors the system voltage on the Ignition voltage circuits. The HPCM is located within the drive motor generator power inverter module (PIM) assembly and is not serviced separately. Higher than normal voltage may cause the control module or sensors to operate improperly.
Ignition is in RUN/CRANK.
The HPCM detects system voltage is 18 volts or greater for 5 out of 6 seconds.
DTC P0563 is a Type C DTC.
DTC P0563 is a Type C DTC.
• | Observe the driver information center (DIC) messaging that would indicate the electrical system requires service. |
• | A battery charger may have set this DTC. |

Engine ON, measure and record the battery voltage with a DMM. The battery voltage should be less than 14.5 volts.
⇒ | If the voltage is not less than the specified value, or the Charge Indicator light is ON, go to DC Power Conversion Test. |
⇒ | If the voltage is not less than the specified value, test the Ignition Voltage circuit for a short to a voltage source greater than the specified value. |
⇒ | If the voltage is within the specified range, replace the PIM. |
Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification after completing the diagnostic procedure.
