Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement Tahoe/Yukon
Removal Procedure
- Remove the door handle bezel. Refer to
Door Handle Bezel Replacement
.
- Remove the window regulator handle, if equipped. Refer to
Door Window Regulator Handle Replacement
.
- Remove the trim panel
screws.
- Slide the trim panel up in order to remove the trim panel from
the door.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors, if necessary.
Installation Procedure
- Connect the electrical
connectors, if necessary.
- Align the retainers with the holes in the door.
- Install the trim panel to the door by lowering the trim panel
down into the retainer holes in order to seat the retainers.
- Install the window regulator handle, as necessary. Refer to
Door Window Regulator Handle Replacement
.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the trim
panel screws.
Tighten
Tighten the trim panel screws to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
- Install the door handle bezel. Refer to

Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement Suburban/Yukon XL
Removal Procedure
- Remove the door handle bezel. Refer to
Door Handle Bezel Replacement
.
- Remove the window regulator handle, if equipped. Refer to
Door Window Regulator Handle Replacement
.
- Remove the reflector light using a flat bladed tool from the trim
panel and disconnect the electrical connector.
- Remove the manual lock lever from the trim panel using a flat
bladed tool.
- Remove the two trim panel
screws.
- Remove the trim panel from the door by carefully sliding the panel
upward then outwards.
- Disconnect the electrical connectors.
Installation Procedure
- Connect the electrical
connectors, if necessary.
- Align the retainers with the holes in the door.
- Install the trim panel to the door by lowering the trim panel
down into the retainer holes in order to seat the retainers.

- Install the manual lock lever by pressing in till fully seated.
- Connect the electrical connector to the reflector light and install
the reflector by pressing in till fully seated.

- Install the door handle bezel. Refer to
