Did you perform the Retained Accessory Power Diagnostic System Check?

Inspect the RAP fuse.

Is the fuse open?

Go to Step 13

Use the scan tool in order to read the RAP timer.

Does the RAP timer count down?

Go to Step 4

  1. Disconnect the body control module (BCM) connector C1.
  2. Test the control circuit of the RAP Relay for voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Is battery voltage present?

Go to Step 10

  1. Disconnect the RAP relay.
  2. Test the coil side feed circuit at the RAP Relay for voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Is battery voltage present?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 6

Repair the open in the battery positive voltage circuit of the RAP Relay. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 14

Test the control circuit of the RAP Relay for continuity. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Is continuity present?

Go to Step 9

Repair the open in the RAP Relay control circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 14

Replace the RAP relay.

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 14

  1. Disconnect the body control module (BCM) connector C1.
  2. Connect a fused jumper from the BCM control circuit of the RAP Relay to ground.

Does the RAP operate?

Go to Step 11

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the BCM. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 14

Go to Step 12

Replace the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.

Is the repair complete?

Go to Step 14

  1. Repair the short to ground it the battery positive voltage circuit of the RAP Relay. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
  2. Replace the RAP fuse.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 14

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
