3

Inspect the tire/wheel assemblies for the following conditions:

    • Inspect for correct tire pressure and adjust as necessary.
Refer to Tire Inflation Pressure Specifications in Maintenance and Lubrication.
    • Inspect for correct tire size and repair as necessary.
Refer to Vehicle Certification Label in General Information.
    • Check for abnormal tire wear.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

Repair/replace components as necessary.

    • Tighten components to specifications. Refer to Fastener Tightening Specifications in Front Suspension or Fastener Tightening Specifications in Rear Suspension.
    • Replace the wheel bearings. Refer to Front Wheel Hub, Bearing, and Seal Replacement in Front Suspension.
