The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
During a engine mechanical repair or replacement, a dealer may notice the engine has or doesn't have a VLOM manifold/connector.
The 6.2L L92 engines prior to April 2006 were built with Active Fuel Management AFM) hardware components, but it was disabled.
The 6.2L L92 engines built after April 1, 2006 were built without AFM components.
Do not swap AFM components from a non-AFM to a AFM engine or vise-versa. The components are not interchangeable and may cause engine driveability or mechanical concerns.
All replacement engines should be a non-AFM equipped engine, and bulletin number 06-06-04-029 should be performed during installation. (vehicles built before April 1, 2006)
