The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some Customers may state that their navigation radio will not play a DVD audio or DVD video disc.
Recommendation/Instructions:
There are two Navigation radio's that are released for the 2007 models listed above. Both Navigation radios look identical but have different functions internally. If you have a Navigation radio with (RPO UVB) listed on the RPO sticker, this navigation radio will be capable of playing DVD movies and DVD audio.
If you have a Navigation radio with (RPO U3U) listed on the RPO sticker, this navigation radio will not play DVD movies or DVD audio. This is normal operation of this model navigation radio and no repairs should be attempted. This Navigation radio is only capable of playing a DVD navigation disc and is not equipped with the additional software for DVD movies and DVD audio.
Note: A simple way to tell if a navigation radio is capable of playing DVD audio or Video is to check for the DVD symbol on the left lower corner of the radio.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
