This PI was superseded to update model years and add a statement about the additional key fobs. Please discard PIT4194A.
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Some owners may comment that intermittently the memory seat will not recall when using the key fob, but will operate after using the memory 1 or 2 buttons on the driver's door panel or after using the other key fob. This concern will only occur after the power seat is manually adjusted using the power seat switch.
This is a normal operating characteristic of the memory seat. To regain memory seat recall from the key fob, press the appropriate memory button on the driver's door panel and the remote recall feature will be restored.
The following are two examples of how this feature works:
Notie: The seat recall function is only available using Keyfobs 1 or 2. If the vehicle has any additional key fobs (example # 3 or # 4 ), they will not recall the memory seats.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
