The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
A "Service Stability Message" appears on the Drivers Information Center as a result of a DTC C0561 71 set in the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM). The EBCM receives messages from other modules over GMLAN which are needed to perform ABS, VSES, and/or TCS functions. This code could also appear after re-flashing the EBCM with an updated calibration or as a result of extended ignition on time.
Don't replace the EBCM to resolve this concern. The PCM or BCM will typically set a DTC when the EBCM sets this DTC. Address DTCs in all modules before trying to address DTC C0561. The only way this DTC can be cleared on a Hybrid Equipped Vehicle is to cycle the ignition off, start the vehicle and clear the DTC while the vehicle is running, or after the ignition is cycled off and on again.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
