Did you perform the Lighting Diagnostic System Check?

Verify the fault is present.

Does the system operate normally?

Ensure that the dome lamp override switch is in the OFF position.

Is the dome lamp the only light that does not illuminate?

Go to Step 4

Go to Courtesy or Dome Lamps Inoperative

  1. Open drivers door.
  2. With the scan tool, read the driver door jamb switch status.

Does the scan tool display switch status as ACTIVE?

Go to Step 5

  1. Remove the dome light bulb.
  2. Connect a test lamp between the inadvertent power relay output circuit and a battery positive voltage circuit.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 6

Connect a test lamp between the courtesy lamp output circuit and a battery positive voltage circuit.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 13

  1. Disconnect the LH mini wedge (door jamb switch).
  2. Connect a fused jumper wire between the door latch switch signal and the switch ground circuit.
  3. With the scan tool, read the driver door jamb switch status.

Does the scan tool display the switch status as ACTIVE?

  1. Connect a fused jumper wire between the door latch switch signal circuit and a good ground.
  2. With the scan tool, read the driver door jamb switch status.

Does the scan tool display the switch status as ACTIVE?

Go to Step 12

Repair the open courtesy lamp output circuit between the dome lamp and the body wiring harness junction block. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Go to Step 15

Repair the open in the inadvertent power relay output circuit. between the dome light and the body wiring harness junction block. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 15

Repair the open in the door latch switch signal circuit between the BCM and LH mini wedge (door jamb switch). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

If no open is found, replace the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.

Repair the open in the switch ground circuit. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the bulb.

Replace the LH mini wedge (door jamb switch). Refer to Front Side Door Lock Actuator Replacement in Doors.
