  1. Turn the ignition off.
  2. Remove and inspect the WS Wiper fuse.

Is the fuse open?

Check for a short to ground in CKT 143.

Is a short to ground present?

Repair the short to ground in CKT 143.

  1. Reinstall the fuse.
  2. Turn the ignition ON.
  3. Connect a J 35616-200 (backprobe) from terminal E4 of connector C201C to ground.

Is the test light on?

Repair the open in CKT 143.

Is the repair complete?

  1. Turn the wiper/washer switch to the LO position.
  2. Connect a J 35616-200 (backprobe) from terminal E5 of connector C201C to ground.

Is the test light on?

Replace the wiper/washer switch. Refer to Multifunction, Turn Signal, and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle

Is the replacement complete?

  1. Disconnect the windshield wiper motor connector.
  2. Connect a J 35616-200 from wiper motor connector terminal C to terminal A.

Is the test light on?

Repair the open in CKT 550.

Connect a J 35616-200 from wiper motor connector terminal B to ground.

Measure the voltage from wiper motor connector terminal D to ground using a J 39200 .

Is the voltage within the specified value?

10.5-15 V

Measure the voltage from wiper switch connector C201C, terminal E8, to ground using a J 39200 .

Is the voltage within the specified value?

10.5-15 V
