1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
2. Activate the windshield washer switch.

Do the windshield washers operate properly?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Disconnect wiper/washer switch connector.

Does the washer pump continue to run?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 7

Remove the W/W PMP fuse.

Does the washer pump continue to run?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 6

Repair the short to voltage in the windshield washer pump control circuit.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 7

Repair the short to voltage in the windshield washer switch signal circuit.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 7

Replace the wiper/washer switch. Refer to Multifunction, Turn Signal, and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle .

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 8

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?

System OK
