When servicing the vehicle with the VIN you entered, the following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the described symptoms.
This involves 2003 and 2004 Chevrolet Tahoe, GMC Yukon and Yukon Denali and the Cadillac Escalade where fuel tank assembly replacement is required. Service part fuel tanks will no longer have the retainer nubs for the rear heat shield extension. The rear heat shield extension is no longer needed and should not be reinstalled on fuel tanks without the retainer nubs. This heat shield has also been eliminated for production. It is important to note that other heat shields must be installed since the fuel tank retainer nubs are still present. This message is intended for all Chevrolet, GMC, and Cadillac enrolled Dealers.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance. This diagnostic approach was developed for the vehicle with the VIN you entered and should not be automatically be used for other vehicles with similar symptoms.
