The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
When replacing the brake pedal assembly on vehicles equipped with adjustable pedals, RPO JF4, it is necessary to cut the I/P reinforcement brace studs closest to the I/P carrier. A replacement bracket, studs, and nuts must be obtained to reassembly the vehicle.
Note: Do not replace the complete brake pedal assembly for a DTC B3606, if diagnostics lead to a brake pedal position sensor. Please follow bulletin 05-08-143-001 for replacing the sensor only.
Recommendation/Instructions:
The service parts are currently available from GMSPO. The listed parts will fit most applications, but please have your parts department verify these are the correct part numbers for your vehicle.
