With Articulating Running Boards. ( RPO BRS ) |
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Some customer may state that the Articulating Running Boards will not retract after the door is closed. Once the doors are closed for 5 seconds, the running board will retract.
This is a normal characteristic of the vehicle and no repairs should be attempted. Starting November 15, 2006, all Utilities equipped with Articulating Running Boards will have a 5 second delay when the doors are closed. This was incorporated in case a customer was opening a rear door to load a package, suit case, or other item. This delay will give the customer the proper amount of time to load an item in the second row seat and then enter the front door without the running boards cycling a second time.
Note: Vehicles that were serviced with a new module that were built prior to 11/15/06 may also experience the same condition.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
