The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some customers may comment about a rattle or ticking noise coming from the transmission. This noise typically occurs in 3rd, 4th and reverse and possibly 5th gear. Engine RPM is typically 800 - 1,500 when this noise is heard. This noise is more likely
to be heard in a car than in a truck.
Recommendation/Instructions:
This condition may be caused by the 2-6 clutch fiber plates rattling. If this noise is encountered please contact TAC at the number you have been provided.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
