Subject: | IPC Odometer Reads Kilometers After Programming |
Models: | 2007 Chevrolet Avalanche, Silverado, Suburban, Tahoe |
2007 GMC Sierra, Yukon, Yukon Denali, Yukon XL, Yukon Denali XL |
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
In some cases, if the IPC does is not powered down between programming events it may change the odometer read out from miles to kilometers. To prevent this from occurring, the ignition key should be switched to the off position and the driver's door opened for one minute after each programming event.
To correct this concern if the IPC odometer has switched to kilometers, remove the 10 amp IPC fuse from the UBEC for one minute and reinstall. If the vehicle is equipped with DIC controls (RPO UK3) the DIC buttons can be used to change the odometer back to miles, instead of pulling the fuse.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
