The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
There have been recent calls into the Technical Assistance Center (TAC) stating that there is no transmitter part number listed in Bulletin: 06-08-52-002E for their particular vehicle. If there is no part number listed for the style of transmitter you are working with, order the proper transmitter by application from the dealer parts department. The parts numbers for the new style fobs are the same as the old part numbers.
There has been no change to any of the part numbers at this point. All the old transmitters were purged from SPO but there may be some instances where a dealer may order new transmitters from SPO and get the old transmitters. The only way you can identify the old transmitters from the new transmitters is to inspect the back of the transmitters for a "STAR" as shown in the picture below. All new updated transmitters will have a "STAR" on the back.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
