The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Vehicles may have a current, intermittent or history DTC P0741 or P0742.
Recommendation/Instructions:
If the vehicle you are working on is equipped with a 6L80 (MYC) and has a previous visit and/or repair for DTC P0741 please contact TAC at the number you have been provided. If this is the first incident of P0741 or if the vehicle is equipped with either
a 6L50 (MYB) or 6L90 (MYD) continue with the diagnostics below.
Make sure to inspect the TCC control valve (227) and the converter feed limit valve (220) for debris, sticking or scoring and repair as necessary. The TCC control valve (227) and the converter feed limit valve (220) are both located in the torque converter/fluid
pump housing.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
