Problem

Action

Restricted air filter

Replace the air filter.

Obstructed air intake duct to the turbocharger compressor wheel

Remove the obstruction(s).

Air leak in the compressor wheel inlet/outlet duct

Inspect the inlet/outlet ducts for loose connections. Tighten the connections and /or replace damaged duct work.

No vacuum signal to the wastegate actuator

Check for DTCs. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List (Definitions) in Engine Controls.

Ruptured wastegate actuator diaphragm

Refer to Wastegate Actuator .

Air leak between the intake manifold and the engine

Refer to Exhaust Manifold Removal in Engine Mechanical.

Exhaust gas leak between the cylinder head exhaust ports and the turbine inlet

Repair the leaks.

Damaged turbocharger

Find the cause of damage. Refer to Turbocharger . Correct the cause of damage. Replace the turbocharger if necessary.

Refer to Fuel System Diagnosis in Engine Controls.
