Shock Sensor Usage 1999
During the first half of the 1999 model year, the Vehicle Content Theft
Alarm shock sensor was deleted in production. If a shock sensor equipped vehicle
is encountered with a defective sensor, discard the sensor. DO NOT attempt
to replace the sensor. There are no replacement parts available. You should
remove the failed sensor and tape over the harness. Be sure to secure the
wire harness with a plastic wire tie in order to prevent the possibility of
a rattle. This elimination will in no way alter the other features of the
theft alarm.
Late 1999 and 2000 Vehicles
The vehicle Owners Manuals for the 1999 and 2000 model years contain
information on the shock sensor. That information was included in error. If
you receive any customer questions as to the proper operation of the sensor,
you may inform them that it was not included on the vehicle. In no case should
you attempt to add a sensor to a vehicle that was not equipped with one.
