The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:

Slip/stick or launch bump/clunk on accel from a stop or on accel while rolling forward. This condition may be intermittent and will only occur in Auto 4WD on a high traction surface.

Recommendation/Instructions:

Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM) reflash software made available to dealers on 04/03/06 with software version 4.0 to correct this concern.

Reflash only affected vehicles with appropriate software provided. TIS2WEB will show a menu screen where the technician can make a software selection. Do not reflash all vehicles with this software.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
