The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Some customers may experience a rattle or squeak type noise coming from the rear dome lamp area. This concern is mostly seen on vehicle equipped with either a sunroof ( RPO CF5 ) or equipped with a rear DVD screen ( RPO U42 ). This concern is only seen on the short wheel based utility models only.
Recommendation/Instructions:
To resolve the concern, remove the headliner and remove the two foam blocks that are located to the left and the right of the rear dome lamp. See Photo below.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
