PI is being superseded to update Recommendation/Instructions. Please discard PIP4032.
The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Technicians may find that the TCCM is difficult to program or programming fails.
Make sure the battery is fully charged and all accessories are off including the auto headlamps. Use the pass-through method instead of remote programming.
If programming fails after partial or full programming event or a SPS error code is received please contact techline at 800-828-6860.
Technicians may use the Midtronics 165-PSC charger, or a 12-volt jumper pack to maintain battery charge during programming (reference June 2006 Techlink article).
Pass-through programming eliminates the necessity for the tech II to store calibration information and will be the preferred programming method in the future.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
