Condition
Some customers may comment on a squeaking or itching noise in the upper door area when driving.
Cause
This condition may be caused by roof drip weatherstrip-to-door frame contact. This could occur at any or all of the doors.
Correction
Replace the roof drip weatherstrip with a new softer seal weatherstrip.
Important: The weatherstrip and the surface should be at a temperature of at least 21°C (70°F) prior to installation. The vehicle should remain at that temperature for one hour after the repair has been made to allow the adhesive to develop sufficient bond strength.
- Remove the roof drip weatherstrip push pins.
- Remove the weatherstrip using a heat gun, or equivalent, if necessary.
- Clean all of the adhesive residue from the door opening.
- Remove the protective film from the back of the new weatherstrip. Apply pressure to the weatherstrip as you install it on the vehicle.
