Condition

Some customers may comment on a whistle noise from the front end of the vehicle. This noise seems to be coming from the mirror or windshield area and is more noticeable when the vehicle is driven into the wind.

Cause

A gap at the headlamps may be causing the wind whistle.

Correction

  1. Remove the headlamps. Refer to Service Information (SI) for removal and installation of the headlamps.

  2. Object Number: 2064564 Size: SH
  3. Install Adhesive-Back Shim Stock foam, part number P46495, from the top of the headlamp to the bottom of the headlamp along the trailing edge of the headlamp as shown in the figure above. Apply the foam to both of the headlamps at the time of the repair.
  4. Important: Place the foam on the black plastic, as close to the sharp edge of the lens as possible to fill the cavity.
