The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Some customers may comment about a Service 4WD light on and the system inoperative. When checking the system with a Tech 2 the dealer technician may find a 4WD switch code, B2725, either current or in history.
Important: This PI only applies to the above vehicles built 04/09/2008, for vehicles built after the listed date follow the published SI diagnostics.
This concern may be caused by a primary switch fault. There may be a voltage loss between detents as the switch is moved from one position to another. This unclean transition between shift points results in a B2725 DTC.
This concern is typically caused by an internal switch concern and the switch should be replaced. PLEASE DO NOT REPLACE THE TCCM FOR THIS CONDITION.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
