Tools Required

1. Rotate the transmission so that the final drive is facing upward.

Important: Leave J 26958-10B adaptor in position.

2. Remove J 26958 which was installed in order to perform the Low Roller Clutch Race End Play Check procedure.
3. Install J 25025-7A and J 8001 with the indicator stem touching J 26958-10B .
4. Set the dial indicator so that the pointer is at zero.



5. Insert J 28585 into the oil weir hole, and gently pry up on the pinion cross pin.
6. The dial indicator should read 0.12-0.82 mm (0.005-0.032 in).
7. Record the reading.
8. In order to select the correct final drive thrust washer (680), refer to the Selective Thrust Washer table in End Play Specifications .
