Tools Required

1. Remove the converter housing oil seal (204) using J 6125-1B and J 23129 .




Caution: If the O-ring is not removed, the second clutch assembly and the third clutch assembly will come out with the converter housing. The O-ring seal may shear while the parts are being held, allowing the second and the third clutch assemblies to fall, causing personal injury.

2. Remove the O-ring seal (318) from the input shaft.



3. Remove the seven outer diameter converter housing bolts (203).
4. Loosen the five inner diameter converter housing bolts (202).



5. Remove the converter housing (205) with the pump assembly (222) and the reverse clutch assembly (228).



6. Remove the selective washer (224).
